VIEN, LOUISE 1970-  Canadian Métis Artist and Artisan, Born in Timmins, Ontario


A multidisciplinary artist Louise graduated from Algonquin/Cité collégiale graphic arts program in 1993. Recipient of many artistic recognitions, she received an honorable mention for exceptional creativity by the NCC (National Capital Commission).


Passionate for Canadian Métis history and traditional art forms, she became an accomplished finger weaver of ceinture fléchée (arrow sash) and Métis beading, etc... Louise was commissioned by Queens University to create a  special sash for their Métis graduates, she was also commissioned to make a sash for the 2015 Pan Am games. Louise is also a published author of a series of Métis children's book entitled "Roubabbou"
